The Van Gujjar nomadic community practicing transhumance is especially deprived of any form of education. RLEK has made education accessible for their children by providing transhumantic formal school in the High Himalayan altitude at 8000 ft. The schools at Giriganga & Maandal are mobile in nature so that the entire school moves to the High Himalayan region when the community migrates. This means that even in the high altitude mountains the schools function, thus preventing the gaps and bring them to the mainstream education.mobile school
